Improv comedy classes and comedy theatre training programs are available from Bill Johnson Productions in Los Angeles. This
program includes the
courses that form the basis of The Magic Meathands live improv comedy ensemble. Take a class in live
improv comedy for live performance skills in our theatre workshops. Study workshops include Level One - Values Workshop, Level
Two - Skills Workshop, Performer's Workshop, and "The Improv Student Medley" show in the Greater LA area.

Bill Johnson, Director

Bill Johnson served as the associate director in charge of training for the Empty Stage Comedy
Theater under director Stan Wells for three years before founding the Magic Meathands Main
Company. A fifteen year veteran of improvised comedy theatre, he has studied with some of the
nation's top instructors including Gary Austin (original director of
The Groundlings) and Bill
Steinkellner (Emmy award winning producer of
Cheers and creator of Insta-Play improv). Bill had
has the pleasure of performing with a number of companies including the
Waterbrains and guest
appearing with LA's
Trans4merz.

Bill received his formal training at the School of Theatre and Dance at James Madison University in
Harrisonburg, Virginia. His many stage directing credits include a 2003 production of Waiting for
Godot by Samuel Beckett which earned a Garland Award nomination for best actor (Ludwig
Manukian as Estragon) and a 2004 production of Ancient History by David Ives that was met with
high praise from LA Weekly and Entertainment Today.
